UN Day Global Leadership Awards 2025: Celebrating Local Action for Global Impact

On the afternoon of November 1, 2025, the UNA-USA Dallas Chapter hosted the UN Day Global Leadership Awards at the J. Erik Jonsson Central Library, bringing together community leaders, changemakers, and advocates dedicated to advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) across North Texas.

The event was filled with inspiration and connection as attendees celebrated outstanding honorees whose work reflects the values of peace, justice, equity, and sustainability. From grassroots environmental initiatives to programs promoting social inclusion and youth empowerment, this year’s honorees reminded us that global change begins with local action.

Keynote speaker Himaja Nagireddy, captivated the audience with a message emphasizing the power of young voices in shaping a more just and sustainable world. Her remarks encouraged collaboration across generations and highlighted the importance of leadership rooted in empathy and purpose.

Guests also enjoyed networking opportunities, and the presentation of awards recognizing excellence in advancing the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals. The event was supported by the dedication of volunteers, sponsors, and planning committee members, whose combined efforts made the afternoon a true success.
